About The Artist: Victoria WeiChi Hsiao
Victoria WeiChi Hsiao was born in Taiwan. WeiChi has worked with 2 Chinese art masters; Professor Su Fung-Nan and Professor Wu Cheng-Yen, in Taipei, Taiwan.
After moving to the United States in 1994 WeiChi started working with oil paints and drawing. In 2002, WeiChi started attending college in California U.S.A., focusing on her painting and drawing; until today, she still continues her arts education at the Laguna College of Art and Design. Further more, she is obtaining an Interior Design Certificate at the Interior Designers Institute during summer 2016.
She has previously been selected for four years in a row to be in the Art Department’s “Annual Juried Students Show” at the local community college’s Art Gallery. In the past, WeiChi also volunteered in the “Meet the Master” art program for the Tustin Unified School District.
For over 12 years (2003 to present) she has worked for the Chinese School painting programs at the TZU CHI Academy and concurrently at the Irvine Chinese School in Irvine. WeiChi was placed on the Festival of the Arts Junior Art Exhibit on the “Honor Roll of Teacher” List in 2008-present. She also is a member of the California Art Club as an Associate Artist. Also, as a member of the Orange County Artist Association, her work has been exhibited at the Mission Viejo Library from 2012-2016. She also teaches at her own art studio, Phoenix 639 Art Studio from 2003 to present. She teaches drawing and painting, and enhances children’s arts education. She also takes private commissions. She is now joining in the interior designing and continuing her telent in this new field.
